ElitesSingles is an online dating site geared toward the mature, educated crowd, most of whom are looking for a committed relationship—and EliteSenior is no different. There are different versions of the site in different countries, but as far as US members go, 80% hold at least a B.A. The site matches users based on in-depth questions about personality and preferences in a mate, and promises to deliver between 3-7 matches per day.
Signing up to EliteSenior is easy, though it does take a good few minutes. Once you type in your email address and create a password, you will immediately be brought to the in-depth questionnaire, which consists of 200+ questions about your personality as well as qualities that you find attractive or unattractive in a potential mate.
There are general questions, asking about religion, race, etc., but a large part of the questionnaire includes asking users to rate different statements in terms of how much they agree with them. Statements such as:
Religion is very important to me
I enjoy helping others
I want to have a family at some point
I am good at making people laugh
Users will also be asked to rate themselves in terms of traits and qualities, such as: adventurous, selfish, sensitive, extroverted/introverted, caring, makes time for others, and more.
While these questions might cause a bit of discomfort—sometimes it can be hard to tell the truth about yourself on black and white!—it’s important to answer as accurately and honestly as possible, since potential matches are based on those answers. Keep in mind, nothing is set in stone. Answers can be changed at any point, even after the questionnaire is completed.
EliteSenior is not a site that gives members’ full reign over finding matches. Instead of members searching for matches themselves, they are sent matches who are deemed compatible based on the personality/preferences assessment they filled out upon registration.
However, once members receive the matches, they are totally in control of how to proceed - they can either contact the potential match, or ignore.
The questions that EliteSenior asks each user are based on the 'Five Factor Model' theory of personality traits, a psychological model used to measure compatibility. Members can edit their answers—which are both multiple choice and free-style—at any time during their membership.
If members receive a match that they would like to look into, they can send a personalized message, either from their profile or match list. EliteSenior also gives the option to “send a smile” to a potential match, and comment or “like” their photo. Comments are only visible to the sender and recipient, and don’t differ much from sending a message. All communication between members is saved under Messages, and is totally private.
Something to keep in mind is that messaging is only available to paying members (see chart below). Members who sign up for free can send smiles and likes, but that’s about it.
EliteSenior verifies each new account in order to maintain the integrity of the site. It also uses ID Authentication, Manual Profile Verification, 256-bit SSL-encryption, SSL Encryption, and a Fraud Detection System to protect members’ personal and financial information.
The website also promises not to reveal any sensitive data to third parties or other members, which means that if a member contacts EliteSenior customer support and asks for another member’s phone number, that information will not be provided. Members can only get in touch with each other via the site’s messaging tool, which puts members in control of their own privacy.
The EliteSenior home page offers free registration for members, and while you can technically register for free, you can’t really do much with free membership. You can see blurry pictures of potential matches, but you can’t contact them unless you become a paid member.
There are 3 paid options, and the most popular one is Premium Classic, which is sometimes offered at a discounted rate. The chart below outlines the options, how much each costs, and what comes with each package.
|Premium Light||Premium Classic||Premium Comfort|
|Membership Length||3 months||6 months||12 months|

EliteSenior serves members who are seeking both heterosexual and homosexual relationships. Members do not actively search for matches on EliteSenior; rather, the website uses a complex psychological model, as well as demographic data and personal preferences, in order to determine which people might go well together.
The psychological model is based on the Big Five Model of Personality psychology. The site then uses the results of five personality dimensions to identify couples who are particularly compatible. The site also takes into account demographic data such as gender, age, location, profession, and level of education.
In addition, EliteSenior asks for each user’s personal preferences, including long-term relationship prospects and how important certain things are in a mate (non-smoker, for instance).
There are over 200 questions to fill out, and members who fill out their profile completely are usually sent between 3-7 matches per day.
If members find that they are receiving matches that aren’t suitable for them, they should go back to the questionnaire and adjust their answers. This isn’t “cheating”— it’s offering a better picture of yourself. It’s often hard for a person to describe himself accurately, as we are our own biggest critics, so it’s fine to take a few stabs at it until you get it right.
It’s important to remember that as with any online dating site, there are no guarantees. EliteSenior has the potential to find suitable partners, but does not (and cannot) guarantee it.
“Overall the online dating site and app has promising matching capabilities.” - Scott, April 21, 2017
“Just like any paid online dating program, it’s loaded with free or trial profiles that cannot see or read messages from paying subscribers.” - Mary, June 7, 2017
EliteSenior has a comprehensive Help Center, but not much more than that. Customer support can be reached via website messaging, but it’s not front and center on the site. Users are encouraged to peruse the Help Center before contacting EliteSenior customer support via message or phone. The phone center is located in Germany, so US users should keep the time difference in mind.
